Liverpool's Christmas lights were switched on in the city centre tonight and a festive party was held to celebrate.
The festivities took place at Liverpool ONE and involved pop up pantos, a festive choir and a singalong led by Santa and Mrs Claus.
Elves were present at the party as they kept an eye on who was being naughty and nice.

A variety of festive characters also filled the city's streets, including tap dancing turkeys, giant crackers and Christmas Belles.

Liverpool's Christmas market also opened today, comprising 40 stalls selling a variety of festive gifts, food and drink.
The market also has rides, a Windmill bar, Teepee tent, Barrel Bar and Alpine lodge, which returns with its karaoke cable cars.
