Black Ops Royale in Call of Duty: Warzone is a throwback to the Blackout era where every piece of loot matters. Since there are no loadouts to save you here, your build is whatever you can scavenge off the floor, and that includes your perks.
Perks in Black Ops Royale aren’t passive; they’re consumable power-ups that can flip a gunfight. Here’s a breakdown of how perks work, and the best perks you need to be hoarding in your inventory.

All Perks in Warzone Black Ops Royale and how they work
Perks are temporary, consumable boosts found as ground loot, in supply boxes, or as rewards from activities scattered across Avalon. Unlike traditional Warzone, you have to manually activate them from the ground, or stow them in your inventory so you can pop them during hectic engagements or in the final circles.
You can have five perks at once in your inventory. Timing is crucial because perk effects have set durations:
- Short – Around 2 minutes
- Medium – Between 2½ to 3½ minutes
- Long – Around 4 minutes

| Perk | Duration | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Awareness | Short | Increases the volume of enemy footsteps by a modest amount. You also gain the ability to track enemy footprints. |
| Brawler | Long | Gain a small amount of additional health when engaged in melee attacks. Provides bonus to your health if you are fully healed. Strong increase in melee damage. Adds the Tactical Sprint ability. |
| Engineer | Medium | Allows you to see enemy equipment, killstreaks, and vehicles through walls. When you’re a driver or a passenger in a vehicle, it will repair itself over time. |
| Iron Lungs | Long | Increases the time you can hold your breath while underwater or using certain Optic Scopes. Reduces weapon flinch and idle sway. |
| Looter | Short | Supply boxes within a reasonably proximity are outlined. A modest increase in the chance to find higher-value loot (more special items). |
| Medic | Long | Downed allies return to the fray with impressive bonus health. You can insert Armor Plates more rapidly. You can revive yourself and others more quickly. |
| Mobility | Long | No fall damage. You swap weapons more rapidly and reload more quickly. |
| Outlander | Medium | Reduces the damage you take if caught in a Circle Collapse and increases the movement speed if inside a Circle Collapse, both by a modest amount. |
| Paranoia | Long | You can sense when an enemy is looking at you. |
| Reinforced | Long | Explosive and fire-based damage is reduced by a sizable amount and cannot down you if you’re struck while at full health. You gain resistance to Flashbangs and Stuns, and suffer reduced damage from the Hand Cannon, War Machine, and Death Machine. |
| Skulker | Long | Increases your movement speed by a minor amount. Increases your crouch and prone speed by a modest amount. Increases your swimming speed by an impressive amount. |
| Squad Link | Short | When you ADS, enemies are automatically pinged. Shooting enemies outlines them briefly. Downed enemies within your general vicinity will be visible through obstacles. |
Best Perks to use/stow in Black Ops Royale
Since you only have five active perks at a time, you shouldn’t just pop every perk the second you find it. There are perks that are very effective in combat, and you would like to stow them and activate them later on for gunfights or toward the closing circles.
Mobility

This is a top-tier perk. It removes fall damage, letting you leap off high positions without using your wingsuit to surprise enemies. It also speeds up your weapon swaps and reloads, which are crucial in a mode with no handling-enhanced loadout weapons.
Skulker

If you like to play the sneaky shark in the waterways or need to reposition mid-fight, Skulker is highly effective. It gives a minor boost to overall movement but a solid boost to swimming speed. Your crouch and prone speeds also get a modest bump, allowing you to stealthily play without having to be an easy target.
Paranoia

In Black Ops Royale where someone could be watching you from a bush or high ground with a deadly sniper or AR, Paranoia is your sixth sense. You’ll get a visual pulse on your screen when an enemy is looking at you. It gives you that split-second warning to slide into cover before bullets begin flying your way.
Medic

This is arguably the best team perk in the game. You revive teammates faster, and they come back with significantly more health, letting you exploit the Medic trick for an instant 250 HP, the same as the effect of Trauma Kit.
Have a teammate with the Medic perk active. Down yourself by jumping from a height, and have them revive you. You’ll get back up with a massive HP.
Reinforced

Grenades start flying during intense fights or in the closing circles. Reinforced becomes crucial in these situations as it slashes the damage you take from explosives and fire.
Most importantly, it prevents you from getting shredded by deadly killstreaks like Hand Cannon, War Machine, and Death Machine. Plus, it gives you high resistance to those annoying Flashbangs and Stuns, enabling you to focus on aiming at your target.
