Best Ohio State football recruit from every state since the year 2000

Ohio State football is a national brand when it comes to recruiting. A slew of recruits come from the great state of Ohio, but when you send players to the NFL like the Buckeye program does, the program’s reach goes from coast-to-coast. In fact, it’s not a surprise any longer when more prospects come from outside of Ohio, than from within its borders.

That means there are plenty of big-time prospects that leave the comfortable confines of their home state to come to the banks of the Olentangy to play college football at one of the bluest of blue bloods in the sport.

In honor of the traditional national signing day, we thought it would be fun to go through and mine for the best recruit from every state on record according to the 247Sports composite rankings that go back to the year 2000.

Before we get started, there are 29 states represented here, meaning 21 that aren’t. The states you won’t see on this list: Alabama, Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Also, this list does not include any players that haven’t already signed and enrolled in classes, so no current commitments or current signees that will arrive in the fall or next year are eligible.
