Best moveset for Aegislash in Pokémon Go

Aegislash has always been a highly sought-after Pokémon when it comes to Kalos in Pokémon Go, and it's finally here.

With it being out and players eager to try it out, I figured I'd share my thoughts on what I believe is the best moveset to kit it out with when trying to rise through the ranks of Battle League.

Aegislash’s best moveset in Pokémon Go

Aegislash is a Ghost and Steel-type Pokémon. It's weak to Dark, Fire, Ghost, and Ground-type moves, but it's resilient against most other types, including Normal, Poison, Dragon, Fairy, Fighting, Bug, and more. Its max CP, however, is pretty low, making it perfect for the Great League of battles in Pokémon Go.

The best moveset, in our opinion, that you can teach Aegislash offers a good mix of options. Your main Fast Attack has to be Psycho Cut or Fury Cutter, with this being down to personal choice. After that, your main Charged Move needs to be Shadow Ball at the bare minimum, with Gyro Ball and Flash Cannon all being good options after that.

As for me, I think I'm going to stick with Psycho Cut as my main Fast Move and then pair it with Shadow Ball and Gyro Ball as my main Charged Moves, but feel free to experiment to find a setup that works for you and your team. I'll likely then pair my Aegishlash with something like a Clodsire and either a Tinkaton or Cradily. (I love Tinkaton too much to drop it)

Attack Attack Type Damage Type Damage Energy
Fury Cutter Fast Move Bug-type 3 4
Psycho Cut Fast Move Psychic-type 4 7
Shadow Ball Charged Move Ghost-type 100 55
Gyro Ball Charged Move Steel-type 80 60

Is Aegislash good in Pokémon Go?

Aegislash has been one of the most sought-after Pokémon for pro play for quite a while and is arguably a top-tier pick due to his large range of resistances due to its typing. It'll likely dominate the top-tier Great League bracket and isn't one to miss out on.

It's a great Pokémon to bring in to replace something like Registeel and should be considered as a viable pick if you have one. Its special ability to change between its forms also makes it a menace, and it's already causing a nuisance in the battle league due to its day one bug (which'll likely lead to it being banned for a while until it gets fixed)

It isn't a good Pokémon to go raiding with, though, and is more for those who play in the Battle League exclusively, or those who are vying for a spot at the Pokémon World Championship.
