Best microwave deals on our top tried and tested models

Save money and whip up meals in minutes with our best microwave deals - (The Independent)

From heating up leftovers to steaming veg for a roast dinner, the humble microwave can make your life much easier. They’re an energy-efficient alternative to an electric oven or hob, and now you can save even more on your new appliance with our round-up of the best microwave deals.

With so many different types of microwaves available, we suggest looking for one that suits your specific needs. For example, you’ll want to consider how much room the appliance will take up in your kitchen, as well as the settings you’ll need. If you only need to heat and defrost food, a solo microwave will do the job, but if you want more versatility, combi microwaves are able to grill, roast and sometimes even air fry delicious meals.

If you’re unsure which model is best for you, we’d recommend reading our tried-and-tested reviews of the best microwaves, which demystify the entire buying process and answer all your questions. As well as looking at energy efficiency and how easy the appliance is to use, we also judged them on noisiness and how easy they are to clean.

Buying new kitchen appliances can be a big expense, so here we’ve rounded up the best discounts to help you save on leading microwaves.

Though we want to find the biggest discounts we can, we always prioritise the quality of the products first.

Samsung smart combi microwave with air fryer, MC32DG7646CKE3: Was £329, now £259, Amazon.co.uk

(Samsung)

Samsung’s smart combi model was praised by our reviewer, Rachel Penn, as a do-it-all option, since it comes complete with convection oven and air fryer capabilities: “Sleek, stylish and very powerful, it’s a super modern piece of art.” It can be controlled using an app, it’s powerful, and the touch screen is “very responsive”.

If you miss out on the Amazon deal, you can also get it from Currys for the same price.

Salter duowave two-in-one air fryer and microwave: Was £214.99, now £179.99, Salter.com

(Salter)

If you don’t already have an air fryer in your kitchen arsenal, you might want to consider this two-in-one model from Salter. It combines the capabilities of a microwave and an air fryer in one handy appliance, saving you counter space, plus it topped our round-up of the best microwaves and landed a spot in our pick of the best air fryers.

Our reviewer Rachael found that it “did a good job of everything from cooking jacket potatoes to reheating leftover pizza” and said the keep warm function was a standout feature. There are 10 preset functions, and it will cater to larger households thanks to its 26l capacity.

It’s currently on sale for £199, but you can get an extra 10 per cent off by using the code EXTRA10.

Salter Toronto microwave: Was £89.99, now £76.49, Salter.com

(Salter)

What appears to be a modest £5 off can be reduced further when you add the discount code EXTRA10. This takes the price down to £76.49, which is one of the best prices we’ve seen this microwave for.

In her review, tester Rachael Penn praised this model for having the best design on test, noting its “sleek black design with wooden highlights”. As for performance, it “did a good job at cooking food and was super efficient when defrosting items”, she said. What’s more, the microwave was quiet and easy to operate.

Daewoo five-in-one air fryer and microwave: Was £229.99, now £189, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

This capacious and multi-use appliance was one of the “easiest-to-use microwaves” that our tester, Rachael Penn, reviewed. The Daewoo five-in-one is a do-it-all model with 28 cooking presets that take the guesswork out of cooking timings. “The microwave function works incredibly well – it’s powerful yet eco-efficient and because of its large capacity, everything gets evenly cooked so you won’t have to keep taking it out and turning it around”, said Rachel.

This 18 per cent discount saves more than £40, which is a modest saving but well worth considering. We’ll be sure to let you know if it drops down even further.

Swan nordic microwave: Was £99.99, now £79.96, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

If a small microwave is all you need, then this 20l model from Swan, which we named our best compact microwave, could be perfect, especially now it has more than £20 off. Our reviewer, Rachael, said it has enough capacity to fit a standard-sized dinner plate, “handy” preset functions and “intuitive controls.” Plus, it stands out from some of the more traditional microwave designs on the market.

We’ve seen this model drop to as cheap as £50.55 in the past couple of months, so if you’re on a budget, you may want to hold out for a bigger saving. But as far as microwaves go, getting a good one like this for less than £80 is nothing to scoff at.

Samsung large capacity solo microwave oven: Was £129, now £89, Sonicdirect.co.uk

(Amazon)

“If you’re looking for a microwave that looks as good as it performs, the Samsung solo microwave is the one” – high praise from our reviewer, who dubbed this model the best for large families (owing to its large 32ml capacity). Our tester noted this machine’s auto cook function, too, which will select the ideal mode, time and temperature to cook the food, saving you from having to worry about these yourself.

If you’ve had your eye on this appliance, now’s a good time to get it as Sonic Direct has it on sale for £60 cheaper than other popular retailers.

Beko 20l compact microwave, MOC20100SFB 700W: Was £79, now £69, Bootskitchenappliances.com

(Boots Kitchen Appliances)

Our best budget microwave is from Beko, and while that exact model isn’t on sale, this one is very similar. It has the same 20l capacity, which isn’t too large but can still fit a a standard-size dinner plate, and has the same amount of power (700W). This model isn’t quite as sleek-looking as the one that made it onto our round-up, but for £69, it’s a solid option from a brand that we trust.
