'Best left-back in the world' - Chelsea fans excited by Emerson Palmieri injury update

It has been a good start to life as a Premier League manager for Frank Lampard.

Chelsea have four wins from their first eight Premier League games, sitting fifth in the table, only outside the top four on goal difference.

And Lampard's mood will be boosted even further by the news that several first team stars are making their returns from injury.

One of those - Emerson Palmieri - is ready to stake his claim for a first team place again it seems.

The left-back has already managed five Premier League appearances under Lampard this season, but has not played since picking up a hamstring injury against Liverpool on September 22.

He only managed 15 minutes of that match, before being replaced by Marcos Alonso, who has filled in ever since.

The left-back berth has always been a hot topic at Stamford Bridge, with Maurizio Sarri preferring Alonso in the Premier League last season, while the supporters were crying out for Emerson to start.

And the supporters are naturally delighted to see Emerson back in training.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday evening, Emerson said: "Good to be back training with the lads," with a video of his return to full training.

And the Blues supporters could not contain their excitment at the Italian returning to the first team picture.

It seems unlikely that the left-back will be risked against Newcastle United this weekend, but could feature during the Champions League clash with Ajax in midweek.
