With the job market beginning to bounce back after a grueling pandemic, more and more people are open to a career change.

Whilst choosing a career path, for most, is usually not a swim in the ocean, this particular role is quite literally just that.

Luxury resort group Coco Collection are offering a three-week placement as a ‘coral reef gardener’.

A lucky winner will be flown out to the luxurious Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu resort in September, where they will help the Marine Educator with managing and fostering coral growth in the surrounding house reefs.

In their downtime, the lucky winner will also get to spend time enjoying the stunning Indian Ocean surroundings and will be gifted with some of the most fantastic experiences available to guests of the resort.

Set sail with COCO Collection’s internship (Handout)

The winner of the three-week placement will receive:

• A roundtrip flights to the Maldives

• A roundtrip seaplane transfers to Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu

• 3 weeks accommodation in a Deluxe Beach Villa including Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner

• A Sunset Cruise

• A Spa Treatment

Marine Educator at Coco Collection, Rosalie Bailie said: “The Maldives faces increasing environmental and social challenges as its popularity grows and we all have a part to play in ensuring that the beautiful, but fragile ecosystems remain intact.

“We hope our new intern will reflect this ethos and we are looking forward to receiving applications for this fantastic opportunity to come join the team and continue their eco mission.”

Not your everyday gardening (Handout)

To be in the running of winning this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, applicants must submit a link to a 2-3-minute video and a 500-word cover letter explaining why they think they would be a good fit for the role.

Applicants do not need to have previous experience, but they must be over the age of 18 years, be a competent open water swimmer and keen to gain experience in this field.

Applications are open until 12th May 2022 (08:00 BST) via www.cococollection.com

The winner will be announced on the 2nd June 2022.
