Repairing the Generators is the primary goal of the Survivors in Dead by Daylight, and the speed at which they do it is of crucial importance. If they're too slow, they allow the Killer enough time to hunt them down, rendering their whole effort moot.
Thus, there came to be the Gen Rush strategy, whereby the Survivors rush Generators and complete them as fast as possible, leaving not a single second for the Killer to get to them in time. While seemingly difficult to create, Gen Rush builds are rather simple, so here's our recommendation for the Best Gen Rush build in DBD.

Gen Rush build guide - Dead by Daylight
Gen Rush, as the name implies, relies solely on your ability to repair Generators quickly and effectively. The first part of the equation is solved via proper Perk selection, whereas your efficacy is determined by your skill level and depends heavily on whether you're solo or with a premade Survivor team.
Free (No Prestige) Gen Rush build

As for the Perks, you will need to Prestige a couple of Survivors to acquire them. But before we get into the Ultimate Gen Rush build, here's one you can use for free without having to purchase any Survivors or get them to a Prestige level (it requires you to pick Dwight Fairfield):
- Prove Thyself - This is Dwight's unique Perk, granting a buff to Generator repair speed based on how many Survivors are within four meters of him. This is a stacking buff which can go as high as 30 percent when all three Survivors are near Dwight and the Perk is at level three.
- Resilience - All action speeds are buffed if you are in an Injured State. The buffs go as high as nine percent, with the caveat that the Killer must hit you once for it to kick in. This is a general Perk and is available to all Survivors regardless of Prestige levels.
- Déjà Vu - The three Generators that are closest to one another are revealed to you, and you repair them up to six percent faster. This, too, is a general Perk available to every Survivor in the game.
With this free build, you'll have up to a 45-percent total buff to repair speed, allowing you to storm Generators like there's no tomorrow. But Dwight's Prove Thyself Perk significantly depends on your teammates, so it's best used while in a party that knows what it's doing and sticks together no matter what. Otherwise, your best course of action would be to follow other Survivors and always ensure there are at least some of them around you.
Prestige Perk Gen Rush build

If you do happen to have Prestiged Haddie Kaur, David Tapp, and Jonah Vasquez, you can also create the following Gen Rush Build:
- Overzealous (Haddie Kaur) - Cleansing or blessing Totems grants bonus Generator repair speed. If it's a Dull Totem, the repair speed is increased up to 10 percent, whereas you can gain up to a 20 percent increase when blessing or cleansing a Hex Totem.
- Boon: Exponential (Jonah Vasquez) - Cleansing or blessing Totems turns them into Boon Totems, granting up to a 100 percent increase to recovery speed and the ability to self-recover from the Dying State while within the Boon Totem's AOE. Boon Perks, like this one, allow for any Totem to be blessed and not just cleansed, synergizing well with Overzealous.
- Stake Out (David Tapp) - Spending 15 seconds within a Killer's Terror Radius while not being actively chased by them awards Tokens. You can hold up to four Tokens at a time, spending them on repairing Generators, whereby good skill checks are converted into great skill checks, greatly accelerating repair progress. Great skill checks themselves do not cost Tokens.
If you have a full team of strong Survivor mates, switching Stake Out for Prove Thyself, Déjà Vu, or Resilience is a great idea. In fact, I think you should put Prove Thyself in there at any rate, if you are confident that you can maneuver your teammates into following you or stick close to them enough to nudge them toward Generators.
In total, without any of the free build Perks, you'll have a near-constant 20 percent buff and almost always land great skill checks. With Prove Thyself, you'll have up to 50 percent, which should enable your Generator rushing and certainly make the Killer really, really angry.
