Zenless Zone Zero‘s second anniversary celebration kicked off, and it offers a free S-Rank Agent to anyone who logs in. The free characters include Lucia, who’s a must-have support for Rupture teams, and Trigger, who’s a universal stunner.

Which free S-Rank Agent should you pick from Marcel Anniversary Gifts in ZZZ?
The best character in Marcel Anniversary Gifts is Lucia, who’s a primary support character for Rupture teams (Starlight – Billy, Yixuyan, and others). Outside of Lucia, Trigger is also a good option if you need a stunner for your team, and among damage dealers, Jane just got buffed.
At the end of the day, you should pick a character you like and whose gameplay you enjoy. Most of the time, it’s not worth picking up a character for meta’s sake, unless your goal is to maximize damage and consistently clear endgame.

Lucia
Lucia is the main Rupture Support in ZZZ, who increases the Sheer Force and CRIT DMG. If you own and play characters like Yixuan, Yidhari, Starlight – Billy, and Banyue, Lucia is a must-have if you want to maximize your damage. She’s also quite easy to play and doesn’t need much investment.
Jane
Jane is a strong Physical Anomaly character who got a buff in 3.1. As an Anomaly character, Jane’s best teams include other Anomaly characters and supports, such as Yuzuha, Velina, Vivian, Ramielle, and others. It’s worth checking if you own any of them if you want to play optimally.
Another reason to pick up Jane is that it’s unclear whether she’ll ever get a rerun. For a while now, Jane, alongside Burnice in Qingyi, has been available only through the Collectible Exchange tab in the store.
To unlock Agents in the Collectible Exchange, you need two Special Invitation Letters, which you get after acquiring a duplicate of an already M6 S-Rank Agent. If you’re free-to-play, or even a light spender, it’s an expensive way of getting a new Agent.
Hugo
Hugo is an Ice Attack Agent and by far the least popular character on the selector because he plays with two Stun characters on the team. This can be Lycaon, Dialyn, Lighter, Trigger, or someone else. His playstyle is about quick-swapping and triggering Totalize on stunned enemies, which can be fun. So, if you like Hugo’s design, this is a good time to pick him up.
Soldier 0 – Anby
Soldier 0 – Anby is an overall solid Electric Attack Agent with rapid-fire gameplay. There’s not much to add about her other than that she’s reliant on her signature W-Engine, but you can pick it up for free from the Marvel Anniversary Gifts, too.
Trigger
Trigger is an Electric Stun Agent and is a universal stunner. All you need to do is hold Basic Attack, use her EX Special Attack, and swap to other Agents while she plays off-field. While there are better niche Stun characters, like Dialyn for Rupture teams and Nangong Yu for Anomaly teams, you can’t go wrong with Trigger.
How to claim a free S-Rank agent from Marcel Anniversary Gifts in ZZZ
The ZZZ second anniversary celebration lasts throughout version 3.1 until Sept. 8, so you have around 41 days since release to claim your free S-Rank Agent alongside other goodies.
Here’s how to claim the free S-Rank agent from Marcel Anniversary Gifts:
- Log into ZZZ between July 29 and Sept. 8.
- Head to the Festival Invitation screen (orange icon at the top).
- In Marvel Anniversary Gifts, select Claim under the S-Rank Agents.
- Look over the characters, select the one you want, and claim it.
Throughout this period, you can grab a signature W-Engine for one of the Agents in the selector, alongside 1,600 Polychrome and other goodies. For spenders, there’s also a top-up event with more Agents as rewards and Ramielle-themed cosmetics.

Will Agents featured in the selector have a rerun?
Most Agents in the selector should have reruns at some point. The only possible exception is Jane Doe.
Should I also grab the matching signature W-Engine?
Most characters greatly benefit from their W-Engines, so it doesn’t hurt to grab one. Lucia and Trigger aren’t that reliant on their signatures, though, in case you want to grab a weapon for one of your DPS characters.
