Late night favourite the doner kebab has been crowned the king of snacks to fill the hunger gap when pubs close.
The pitta bread, meat, salad and sauce booze soaker edged out cheesy chips and burgers to bag the number one takeaway food spot after a night on the tiles.
While most worse-for-wear Brits pick up messy food such as chips slathered in curry sauce and fried chicken on the way home, one in 10 prefer to pop a supermarket pizza or frozen chips in the oven once indoors.
According to a survey of 1,500 adults by plant-based food brand Squeaky Bean, 15% of post-pubgoers enjoy a chip butty and 13% crave a cheese toastie when they get the munchies after a night out.

Almost one in five reckon a simple Margherita pizza hits the spot after a boozy session but one in 10 order up a chicken tikka masala.
Despite the quick food fix after a night out, almost half of Brits polled have suffered a bout of food poisoning as a result of a dodgy takeaway, and a quarter said they suspected their food was not freshly made.
More than half said healthy diets were quickly forgotten when they stopped at a kebab van or chippy after pub closing time but one in five admitted they would walk right past if they were sober.
Almost four in 10 felt it was a ritual to grab unhealthy fast food after late night drinks with friends.

The research revealed half of hungry Brits enjoyed eating their post-pub snack in front of the telly, a third polished it off on the way home and one in five ate it in bed.
Sarah Augustine, brand manager at Squeaky Bean, said: “Our research indicates just how much Brits love post pub or night out munchies, especially a cheeky kebab.
“We know how satisfying they can be, so we’ve created ready-to-eat shawarma and doner style kebabs that are better for you and the planet.”
