Best Fifa Football Awards 2019: Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Bernardo Silva make alternative world XI

The Best Fifa Football Awards 2019 are over as Lionel Messi surprisingly took home the best men’s player to upset Virgil Van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo

The Liverpool and Juventus stars could at least take consolation from making the 2019 Fifa Fifpro World XI.

But there were some notable omissions, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has enjoyed a fine year for the European champions, but missed out as Sergio Ramos was selected as a right-back to make the team.

Alisson, Sergio Ramos, Matthijs De Ligt, Virgil Van Dijk, Marcelo, Eden Hazard, Luka Modric, Frenkie De Jong, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe all made the final cut – but here is out alternative XI from those not selected from the final XI on the 55-man shortlist:

Who would you have picked for the world XI?
