Whatever your eyebrow concern is, thankfully there's a product these days that claims to be able to solve it for you.
Whether it's a gap in the arch, sparse hairs or just lack of tint to them, you can quickly get rid of it without much time or effort.
Though semi-permanent brow treatments like microblading are becoming more and more popular, the results can be a little uncertain (see beauty director Lynne's story here for more on that).
At least with a cosmetic product you can just apply then wipe off if you didn't quite get it right on the first try.
Notebook's beauty team have got to work testing out new pencil, pen, gel and powder launches that all claim to give your brows a boost...
Fenty Beauty Brow MVP, £17
Beauty writer Zoe says: ‘The pencil is super fine, which makes it easy to create little strokes and define edges, while the brush on the other end gives a fluffy, blended finish.
'The 14 shades with ashy and auburn options made it really easy to find my exact tone, which added to making me look like I could have just woken up with natural, supermodel brows.’
Benefit Brow Styler, £29
Beauty assistant Lola says: ‘This is a 2-in-1 brow powder and pencil and aims to give either a bold brow, or a more subtly defined one.
'I loved the pencil as it created really intricate and realistic strokes, and the angled tip was a bonus.
'The powder has a larger applicator and was harder to use sparingly, but once I got the hang of it my brows looked great.’
Revolution 24hrs Day & Night Brow Pen, £8
Zoe says: ‘One end has the ink tip with three small prongs, which get between the brow hairs to fill sparse areas with a pigmented tint.
'The other side has an angled end that dispenses a clear serum to condition brows overnight.
'The downside is the pen only comes in three shades – dark, warm or ash brown – so it was hard to find my exact shade.’
Ciaté Microblade Brow Pen, £14
Zoe says: ‘I’ve been toying with the idea of real microblading for months,
so this was exciting – but it didn’t really work for me.
'I needed the small prongs on the tip to reach my skin to mimic hair strokes – but they only coated my brows in quite a thin tint.
'Maybe it would work if you had naturally thicker brows and didn’t need so
much definition.’
Gosh Brow Hair Stroke Pen, £8.99
Lola says: ‘This claims to last up to 24hrs as it stains brows with a “semi- tattoo ink”.
'I had to push down quite hard to get the liquid out, but the formula was nice and pigmented and did indeed last all day.
'My tip: pick your exact shade or one lighter as this needs building up with a few coats.’
E.l.f Ultra-Precise Brow Pencil, £6
Beauty editor Octavia says: ‘I quite liked this. I could get the effect I wanted, but it takes some time and care and it doesn’t feel that well-made (sometimes the nib scrolled up or bent during use).
'It’s delightfully minute, though – great for travel.’
Barry M Dual Ended Brow Wand, £5.99
Beauty writer Zoe says: ‘Love the wand with the tinted gel, as the applicator brush is small and able to coat the hairs without smudging on the skin.
'The pencil end transfers easily – I’d have liked a thinner tip instead of an angled one, but that’s being picky.’
L’Oréal UnbelievaBrow, £14.99
Zoe says: ‘Inspiration must have been taken from Wunderbrow’s cult brow gel, and this does live up to it.
'I like that there’s six shades, and though I wouldn’t say it lasted completely for 24 hours (and through two face washes), it does definitely go on without budging during the day.’
NYX Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pomade Pencil, £10
Octavia says: ‘I never knew my brows needed fluffing! Instead of having a spoolie like the Unbelieva Brow, this has a fluffing brush, which gives a softening and totally naturalising effect – the brow equivalent of a good hairbrush.
'If you want your brows to be defined, but not obviously “done”, this is brilliant.’
Collection Incredibrow Kit in Blonde, £3.99
Zoe says: ‘The applicator has a stiff, angled end that gives precise lining for the brows, but the thicker brush on the other end isn’t very useful.
'The setting gel and three shades of powder options were good, though.’
Urban Decay Brow Blade Microblading Brow Eyebrow Pencil, £18
Zoe says: 'The pen side of this duo takes a little more time to do that my regular pencil because you have to neatly use the thin tip to create fine strokes of hair.
'Once I got used to it, I loved the effect - much more natural than heavy powder. The pencil end was nice too, and lasted ages without rubbing off.'
