Best early Black Friday deals on kitchen appliances: From fridge-freezers to stand mixers

There was once a time when Black Friday meant elbowing your way through high street crowds in pursuit of a bargain microwave or half-price toaster.

These days, thankfully, the chaos has moved online, and with it comes a wealth of discounts on the gadgets that make our kitchens tick. From sleek fridge-freezers that keep your weekly shop fresh to stand mixers worthy of The Great British Bake Off tent, retailers are dropping prices well ahead of the big day.

And it’s not just the big-ticket items making waves. Smaller appliances like kettles, toasters, and coffee machines are also seeing impressive markdowns, making it a prime moment to refresh your kitchen kit or finally invest in that gadget you’ve had your eye on all year. The beauty of Black Friday in 2025 is that you don’t have to wait until November 28 to bag a bargain—many of the best deals are already live, meaning your morning brew or post-dinner espresso could soon be powered by a shiny new machine at a fraction of the price.

To save you scrolling through endless product pages, we’ve sifted through the offers to bring you the early deals that are genuinely worth your time. Whether you’re upgrading your culinary essentials or looking for a thoughtful gift, here’s everything you need to know about Black Friday kitchen savings this year.

When is Black Friday 2025?

Black Friday 2025 takes place on Friday, November 28. Traditionally, it’s the Friday after the US holiday of Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. While the date itself is fixed, the reality is that sales start much earlier, with many retailers now kicking off offers weeks in advance to stay ahead of the competition.

Why you can trust Standard Shopping’s Black Friday coverage

Our shopping editors have years of experience covering Black Friday events, and we know that not every markdown is created equal. We look beyond the flashy discount stickers, considering factors like build quality, warranty, and whether the price really is the lowest it’s been. Many of the items we recommend are products we’ve tested ourselves, so you can be confident that the deals we highlight are not only cheaper, but also worth buying. We update our coverage regularly throughout the sale season to ensure you always have the most current, relevant information at your fingertips.

Are there early deals ahead of the main sale?

But of course. Retailers have increasingly embraced the “early Black Friday” trend. Deals start landing from late October onwards, with fresh waves of discounts released each week as we move closer to November 28. This is particularly useful for shoppers hoping to avoid last-minute stress, as you can secure a great price on appliances without waiting for the day itself. Just be aware that the best deals often sell out quickly, so it pays to act fast if you see something you love.

When does Black Friday end?

Although Black Friday itself is a one-day event, the discounts rarely stop at midnight. Most retailers continue their promotions over the weekend and into Cyber Monday, which in 2025 lands on December 1. Some extend savings even further, running Black Friday Week or Cyber Week campaigns that last until the first week of December.

Why is it called Black Friday?

The phrase originated in the United States. The term was first used by police in Philadelphia to describe the heavy traffic and chaos that followed Thanksgiving. Later, retailers spun it into a more positive meaning: a day when shops went from operating “in the red” (losses) to “in the black” (profits) thanks to the surge in sales.

What Black Friday discounts can I expect?

For kitchen appliances, discounts can be particularly generous. Expect to see up to 40 per cent off large items like fridge-freezers, dishwashers and ovens, alongside 20–50 per cent off smaller gadgets like kettles, coffee machines, air fryers and blenders. Major brands such as KitchenAid, De’Longhi, Ninja, and Smeg often feature prominently in the sales, so if you’ve been waiting to upgrade, this is the moment to act.
