How to shop like a pro this Black Friday?

  1. Do your own research: Make sure you keep track of price changes on coveted items to ensure you are really getting the best savings. Find retailers with price promises, so you can get a refund if your desired item is found cheaper elsewhere.

  2. Focus your search: Make a list. This is the best way to avoid impulse buying items you don't really need. A solid list will also make it easier for you to narrow your search and hone in on specific deals quicker.

  3. Bookmark relevant pages ahead of time: If you've been stalking that 42-inch TV or Apple iPad for weeks, bookmarking the pages will make it quicker for you to add to cart when the sales launch.

  4. Look for additional savings: Find ways to get free delivery, opt for click and collect services and sign up to cashback sites like Topcashback where you'll earn extra cash on purchases you are going to make any way.

  5. Stay in the loop: Sign up to newsletters and emails from your favourite retailers to get early access to offers and VIP slots. Also if you're an avid social media user, follow your favourite retailers' social media accounts for the latest updates.
