Dying Light The Beast empowers Kyle Crane with different skills that allow him to get one up on the undead he faces, and there are multiple choices.
Skills, or abilities, can be broken down into different branches. All but the Beast Mode abilities are unlocked and leveled up with the help of Skill Points. There are plenty of great choices when you're getting started, but some of them are simply better than the rest.
Which are the best Dying Light The Beast skills?
A large part of the answer to this question will depend on what type of player you are. Certain skills are excellent, but their use-case scenarios might be relatively niche. Others might have more universal usage, but they could be expensive to unlock. With all those factors in mind, here are my favorite picks when it comes to skills.

- Dropkick: No skill feels, and will feel, this good. The Dropkick skill enables Kyle to perform a double-legged kick on the body of an undead, and it has plenty of good use-case scenarios. For starters, it's the best evasive measure in a desperate situation when you might get cornered against the undead. But you can also use the Dropkick to do a noticeable amount of damage (unless it's like against a Chimera or a big boss). Any undead that falls from a height after receiving a Dropkick will meet instant death.
- Efficient Driving: Unless you want to waste time walking, Efficient Driving becomes an absolute necessity. This ability directly impacts the amount of fuel your vehicle consumes, and it can be a lot. Having your car run out of gas when a horde is nearby is no fun, which is why Efficient Driving is a must-have.
- Grenade Launcher/Flamethrower: These are two skills, but you can't go wrong with either. Both can take down multiple zombies at the same time. The Grenade Launcher has a larger range, but the Flamethrower has more power (but a smaller range). You don't need both, but invest in one of them based on your preference.
- Stealth Expert: Stealth isn't my favorite way of playing any video game, barring Dying Light (because it becomes necessary). In The Beast, having Stealth Expert will allow you to save your life on many occasions. It enables you to go for Stealth Takedowns that eliminate enemies without alerting them. This is highly effective if you don't have additional weapons and healing items with you, since the takedowns don't trigger surrounding hordes.
There are plenty of other skills that you can unlock as you gradually play the game. This also includes the Beast branch, which follows a separate system of unlocks. As a result, I haven't included them on my list as the process of their unlocks will be slower.
