Thousands of people descended on Liverpool’s Pier Head tonight for Nile Rodgers and CHIC’s ‘On the Waterfront’ gig.
Ahead of a headline set by American music legend Nile Rodgers and CHIC, the line up included sets by The Zutons, Rebecca Ferguson and Andy Mac.
There were blue skies before sunset and people were dressed to impress for the start of the four day waterfront festival.

Many gig goers paired cut off shorts with trainers or ankle boots, for comfort and style. Others channelled CHIC’s disco and soul vibes with colourful flares, high rise shorts and plenty of neon and sparkle.

Nile Rodgers' chart topping hits include ‘Le Freak’, ‘Everybody Dance’ and ‘I Want Your Love’. Along with CHIC he's performed in Liverpool several times in recent years including shows at the M&S Bank Arena and at LIMF in 2019. A gig that was due to take place at Aintree this summer has now been rescheduled for June 10, 2022.
Tomorrow night, the On the Waterfront festival continues with a sell out homecoming gig by Camelphat, followed by Cream Classical on Saturday and ending with Cream Classical Ibiza on Sunday.
