A good Doomfist can make the Overwatch match feel like hell for the opposing team. However, he has multiple counters that can leave him exposed, and because Doomfist is a dive tank, it can also often result in him dead.
Most counters require assistance from teammates, but here are the best ways to make Doomfist’s life even worse in Overwatch.

Best heroes to counter Doomfist in Overwatch

As a dive tank, Doomfist harasses enemy backlines and leaves a crater in the faces of anyone engaging him in close combat. He relies on his mobility to be unstoppable. Unlike many tanks, Doomfist has no shield. This means his health can be chipped a bit more reliably.
Here are the best Doomfist counters across all three roles:
| Tank counters | DPS counters | Support counters |
|---|---|---|
| Orisa, Roadhog, Sigma | Sombra, Cassidy, Pharah | Mizuki, Ana, Zenyatta |
Doomfits gets countered by any form of crowd control. Once he’s immobilized and can’t use his abilities on the backline, Doomfist becomes an easy cleanup for you and your team. Some of them require more support from the team, but it’s the main approach in dealing with this tank.
Best DPS to counter Doomfist in Overwatch

Among DPS characters, Sombra is a good counter because of her Hack, which leaves Doomfist without his abilities. It does mean that Sombra has to pay more attention to the ally’s backline rather than the enemy’s, though. Similarly, Cassidy‘s Flashbang slows enemies down and disables their movement abilities, which is strong against a diver like Doomfist.
Other good counters include flyers like Pharah or Echo. Those can stay outside Doomfist’s range and take care of him from above. However, Pharah can be countered by the enemy if they bring a hit-scan DPS like Soldier: 76, Ashe, or Emre. A hero that deals sustained DPS, like Soldier: 76 and Bastion, can also work against Doomfist with enough support from the team.
Best tanks to counter Doomfist in Overwatch

There are a few tanks that have crowd control to nullify Doomfist, but the main one is Orisa. With her Energy Javelin, Fortify, and Javelin Spin, she can deny Doomfist’s movement and make his life much harder.
Other tanks worth mentioning include Roadhog with his Chain Hook and Sigma with Accention. Both require a bit more care than Orisa when it comes to landing abilities, but can counter Doomfist just as well.
Best supports to counter Doomfist in Overwatch

Arguably, the most powerful support counter to Doomfist is Ana. The Sleep Dart, paired with the Biotic Grenade, leaves Doomfist exposed right in the middle of your backline. Another support with crowd control is Mizuki, who can keep an enemy in place with Binding Chain and follow up with damage.
Although without crowd control, Zenyatta‘s Orb of Discord can make Doomfist’s life much harder. The Doomfist must be more careful, as each blow from Zenyatta or any other teammate will do significant damage. Doomfist is great at taking on the backline, so the two will inevitably interact. But playing off your teammates with an Orb of Discord will make a Doomfist think twice.
When you’re playing as Zenyatta, it’s important to keep in mind that your Orb of Discord only stays on your foes as long as they’re within your line of sight. Once that LoS is broken, you have to wait for a short cooldown before you can reapply an Orb of Discord.
