Thousands of Brits are set to tackle DIY projects today, taking full advantage of the extra day off work.

Whether you're renovating a tired kitchen or giving your garden a bit of TLC, there are plenty of handy savings on tools and products you may need to get the job done.

Most of the major hardware retailers have cut prices on tools, paints, wallpaper and more over the extra long weekend.

Here are the best deals we've found to help you save some extra cash - and scroll further down for DIY store opening times for all the major chains including Wickes and B&Q.

    1. FREE £15 spend at B&Q

    The deal covers all brands of 2.5L emulsion paints, and even includes tins from Dulux.

    There's also half price savings on kitchen installations and up to 40% off floor and wall tiles.

    2. Argos 20% off home and furniture sale

    If you're on a mission to transform your home, Argos has slashed the price on hundreds of home and furniture items this weekend.

    you'll be pleased to know you can pick up great value savings on furniture, homewares and electrical items in Argos' latest sale event.

    The high street chain is offering shoppers a free voucher with purchases made this weekend, to spend at a later date in store or online. Shoppers spending £100 or more get £10 and purchases over £50 get a £5 voucher.

    Very are giving shoppers new daily sale deals throughout the Easter break.

    Whether you're looking for a new table or kitting out your home with more storage, Dunelm currently has reduced hundreds of items by up to 20% in their Bank Holiday sale.

    5. B&Q slash 20% off outdoor plants

    B&Q have slashed the price of outdoor plants for Easter weekend and the 20% savings are on until midnight today (22 April).

    There is also a huge online clearance sale with discounts on flooring, power tools and lightbulbs.

      • Easter Monday - Most stores will open from 8am to 8pm.

      • Easter Monday - All stores will be open however stores in England and Wales will operate shorter opening hours than normal. Stores in Scotland will operate normal opening hours.
