'Best debut I've seen' - Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Bristol City signing Rodri

Bristol City yesterday bolstered their attacking line-up by signing Rodri on a free transfer.

The Spanish striker has joined the Robins on a free transfer until January with the option of extending until the end of the season.

City will not be the 29-year-old's first taste of Championship football, however.

In 2013/14, he had a short loan stint at Sheffield Wednesday, scoring on his debut before going goalless for 10 matches and sent back to Barcelona B.

So, how have Owls fans reacted to the Robins signing? It is fair to say most on social media have raised an eyebrow at the news.

Matt: Interesting. A return to the Championship for Rodri.

Steve Turner: I'd forgotten about him. Brilliant first match, crowd loved him, somersault celebrations and then.... Nothing.

Andy Clayton: Amazing wasn’t it. Possibly the best debut performance I’ve ever seen. Then absolutely nothing.

Sergej Odstrom: Rodri over Hooper? Wow.

John Russell: That season we had Bothroyd and Rodri from Barcelona B, and were eventually saved by the guy from Hartlepool reserves, who was a superb loan signing.

Nik Higgs: We thought we had signed a worldie after his debut.

Owls Online: It's a shame Dave Jones decided to not play him too. Wasted talent.

Andrew Scholey: He was never given a proper chance, I thought we had a worldly after the Brum match.

Jonny Hardy: Dave Jones never gave him a chance, think we missed out big time with him.

Veggie Kray: Looked fantastic in his first game for Wednesday, sadly it was, just the one game he played well in. But he was only young I suppose.
