Hell Let Loose has several classes you can choose from, each with advantages and disadvantages. While there’s a significant number of classes in the game, only some are considered the most useful, especially for new players.
Here are ten of the best classes in Hell Let Loose, ranked from the least to best roles.
10. Tank Crews

Tank Crews control powerful tanks that can dominate the battlefield if used right. With machine guns and explosive shells, they can hold off entire squads. However, they need good coordination and infantry support.
A tank without infantry support is vulnerable to satchels, rockets, and mines. Anti-Tank players or Engineers with satchels can easily destroy a tank left alone. Tanks are great, but they are less reliable in terms of overall team impact.
9. Sniper

Snipers can take out enemies from far away and help spot targets, but they usually hang back and don’t help capture objectives directly. While they can disrupt enemies, especially from behind their lines or near artillery, they often have a limited role in team play.
They can be effective but not always essential. With proper spotting and positioning, they can be useful, but they are generally a niche class with limited influence on the frontline.
8. Assault

The Assault class is good in close combat, carrying grenades and smoke. They’re great for clearing trenches and buildings, but outside of those situations, they don’t help the team as much as other classes on this list.
Grenade throwing can be clunky, and they can’t support others. The Assault class is fun to play but doesn’t have a huge effect on the big picture. Without the ability to build or supply the team, they contribute mostly through raw killing power, which is less impactful than providing support.
7. Commander

The Commander helps the whole team by calling in support like bombing runs, supply drops, and vehicles. They don’t fight much and rely on Squad Leaders and other roles to get the most out of their abilities. They’re important for strategy, but they can’t do much on their own.
A Commander’s impact depends on how well the team listens and works together. On their own, they are limited in what they can do, but in a well-coordinated team, their strategic input can shape the entire match.
6. Medic

Medics keep your squad alive by reviving and healing teammates. They save your team from long respawn times, helping you keep pressure on the enemy. Medics don’t fight much, but they’re great during long battles over objectives where every life matters.
Medics are also force multipliers. Their ability to revive downed teammates ensures squads remain effective during long firefights. A good Medic can keep a push going when it would otherwise stall out. Overall, the Medic class is great if you enjoy supporting your teammates, which can be a rewarding experience in Hell let Loose.
5. Anti-Tank

Anti-Tank players are tasked to destroy enemy tanks, which are some of the deadliest enemy tools on the battlefield. They can stop a tank that would otherwise wipe out whole squads with the right rocket or mine, effectively turning the tide of the battle instantly.
They are shockingly effective especially with good team coordination and communication. They’re not as useful in other situations, but when you need to take out armor, no class does it better.
4. Spotter

Spotters are essentially scouts. A Spotter works with the Sniper, but can also operate independently. Often underestimated, Spotters enable aggressive and creative plays through recon outposts and intel gathering. They help place spawn points, especially deep in enemy territory, and mark targets.
A great Spotter will sneak behind enemy lines, destroy spawn points, and set up surprise attacks. Spotters aren’t the best in fights, but their ability to move and gather intel makes them very useful for every team, earning them a high spot on this list.
3. Engineer

Engineers are a flexible and powerhouse class in both attack and defense. They can build important things like resource nodes and defenses, repair tanks, and place mines. Some loadouts let them use satchel charges to destroy enemy tanks and garrisons.
Engineers can help create strong defensive positions and keep vehicles moving. Combined with good Support, they can completely control the battlefield, making them one of the best and most played classes in Hell Let Loose.
2. Squad Leader

Squad Leaders are essential for team coordination and flexibility. As the name suggests, Squad Leaders lead their squad and place important Outposts. They also mark enemy positions on the map and relay information to the Commander.
Effective Squad Leaders keep the team organized and moving together. Even on their own, they can help turn the tide of a battle through mobilization and organization, making them incredibly important in many ways.
1. Support

Support players are important for keeping teams running. They drop supplies that let others build garrisons, AT guns, and defenses. They can also resupply teammates with regular and explosive ammo.
Players who take on the role of Support won’t get many kills, but without them, a team will struggle to build and hold key positions. Working best with Engineers and Squad Leaders, this class is one, if not the most, critical roles in Hell Let Loose. Without Support players, a team is essentially incomplete.
