'Best career in my life' - Leeds United fans will love legendary defender's comments

Former Leeds United centre-back Lucas Rabede has described his time at Elland Road as the 'best career' in his life.

Radebe, who spent 11 years at Elland Road, playing over 200 games, proved to be an incredibly popular figure in West Yorkshire, playing in some of the club's most historic matches in recent times.

Radebe has now spoken about how he came to joining Leeds from South African club Kaizer Chiefs.

On how he ended up swapping South Africa for West Yorkshire, Radebe said: "It is a great honour to have been a part of such a great club and such a great history and I think, for me, most of you know that I only came here to babysit Phil (Masinga).

"But credit to Howard Wilkinson for taking a chance and a gamble for signing me. But when I arrived at the club, first of all the environment was different, but sooner or later I fell in love with the club and vice versa.

"I didn't realise I would spend that long at the club and to be honest this was the best career in my life and I really enjoyed it."
