Best Camera Settings for Skate 4

Skate 4 has a slew of settings that you can change to alter your gameplay experience when cruising around San Vansterdam. However, one of the most important settings menus you need to pay attention to in Skate 4 is the camera settings. These determine the view of your character when they’re riding or walking and have a huge impact on how easy or difficult it is to hit certain tricks.

Changing your camera settings also allows you to get a more immersive experience, as some settings give you a much more realistic view of your character. Of course, everyone is going to have different preferences, but if you’re looking for a quick camera settings guide to get you started with all of the various options in Skate 4, take a look at the guide below.

Best Skate 4 Camera Settings To Use

First and foremost, you can look at and change your camera settings in Skate 4 by going to the “Escape” menu once you’re in a game. From here, go to the settings tab on the right-hand side of the screen, press “Settings,” go to the “Gameplay” tab, and then navigate to the Camera section in this menu.

Once you’re here, you’ll find a variety of camera settings, including your field of view, camera distance, sensitivity, and other options to change. Many of the default options are perfectly fine to use, but there are absolutely some settings you’ll want to change to get a more immersive and realistic experience in Skate 4.

Here are the camera settings you want to use:

On-Board Camera Settings

  • Horizontal Follow Strength: 5
  • Vertical Follow Strength: 5
  • Field of View: 80-90
  • Maintain Camera Distance: On
  • On-board Camera Offset: 6
  • Camera Framing: Low
  • Camera Shake Intensity: 0 (found in the General settings)

Off-Board Camera Settings

  • Horizontal Sensitivity: 30
  • Vertical Sensitivity: 30
  • Horizontal Follow Strength: 5
  • Vertical Follow Strength: 85
  • Field of View: 80-90
  • Maintain Camera Distance: On
  • Off-board Default Pitch: -10
  • Invert Horizontal Camera Controls: Off
  • Invert Vertical Camera Controls: Off

We have included both the on-board and off-board camera settings, but it’s the on-board camera settings you’ll want to pay attention to, as these directly affect your actual skating. You can see we’ve listed the Field of View as a range, as some players might like it a little higher, while others will prefer a slightly lower FOV. You can easily test out different FOV options while skating around and then choose to land on the value you like the most.

As for the rest of the settings, they’re fairly simplistic. We have Camera Framing on Low and the default Follow Strength settings equipped. You’ll also want to make sure Camera Shake Intensity is set to 0, but this is only found in the General settings in Skate 4 and not within the Camera section of the Gameplay settings.

Like we previously mentioned, you should use these camera settings as a jumping-off point for your Skate 4 journey. You can set and forget them if you wish, but you can also make small changes depending on your preferences, which will likely change as you play more and more.

That’s all we have on the best camera settings in Skate 4. Make sure to also check out our more detailed guide about some other settings you should change when you boot up the game.
