If it feels like this year is racing past, well that’s because it is.
It was only just summer a minute ago and yet the countdown to Christmas is on. But before we get ahead of ourselves, there’s one very important holiday to mark your calendars before Mariah Carey starts playing on repeat. Black Friday.
The biggest event in the shopping calendar is within touching distance and as always there’s deals happening left, right and centre for you to treat yourselves or your loved once ahead of the gifting season.
The deals that have best caught our attention are of the television variety. Over the last couple of years, the shows on the small screen have become better than ever and so you need the right bit of tech to be able to enjoy them as they should be.
4k, OLED, UHD - it can be difficult to know what it all means but screen size and price is a great place to start, and there’s no better occasion than the Black Friday to Cyber Monday period to find great deals across every brands.
From LG to Samsung, there’s huge discounts on TVs so check this page regularly for the low down of the best.
When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year?
Each year, the mega sales extravaganza takes place the day after Thanksgiving. For those of you unfamiliar with the US calendar, this is always on the fourth Thursday of November. The date always moves around but for 2021, the klaxon will sound on November 26.
That being said, if last year was anything to go by, you can expect deals throughout November.
Cyber Monday is then the following Monday after Black Friday - the clue is very much in the name. It was traditionally a big day for tech deals but now, there’s just about every category included and some brands slash prices even further on this day.
What TV deals can I expect?
You can expect deals on just about every brand: think LG, Hisense, Samsung and more. With models in every size, you can upgrade the dusty old telly in your living room as well as finally invest in smaller models for your office, spare rooms or just about anywhere you’d like.
If you’re hoping to create an at-home cinema experience to see you through the long winter, check out the latest OLED models which come in an impressive 55”+. For something on the modest end of the spectrum - under 32”, say, - there’s a whole lot of discounts for you too.
Shop smart and you’ll be able to bag state-of-the-art models packed with features like UHD, 4K, Smart TV and virtual assistants.
Cheaper models will be kinder to your wallet but be aware that not all television sets are created equal. There is a reason why the RRP for some will be under £500 and others for over £2,000. They may both have 4K resolution, but colour accuracy, response time, panel type, brightness and sound quality could be vastly different. Always check the reviews before you buy.
