Best beaches in Cyprus and where to find the top all-inclusive deals

Cyprus has long been firmly established as a must-visit for beach holidays thanks to its postcard-worthy shores.

We're not talking just golden sands and blue waters (although there are plenty of those) but also rugged coasts, peaceful bays, bustling promenades, family-friendly spots and water sport hubs .

With so much on offer, it can be tricky finding the right one for you, so we've done the leg work and narrowed it down to some of our favourite ones.

Already dreaming of a holiday there?

TUI, LoveHolidays, On the Beach and First Choice can be useful websites if you're after last-minute all-inclusive deals.

Check out the top 10 best beaches in Cyprus below...

1. Aphrodite's Rock, Paphos

Legend has it that this beach in Cyprus was the birthplace of Roman goddess Aphrodite, and the towering rock stands tall to mark the spot.

It's not permitted to climb the rock itself, but the surrounding sandy beach makes for a great spot for soaking up the rays - be wary of the waters which, on windier days, aren't always the most swim-friendly.

2. Konnos Bay, Ayia Napa

Konnos Bay boasts some ridiculously beautiful turquoise waters, and if you're after a peaceful afternoon then there are plenty of boat trips which sail around the coast, for a laidback day out sightseeing.

Meanwhile, those after a bit more hustle and bustle won't be disappointed on the sandy beach where you'll find heaps of sun loungers on offer, toilets and water sports facilities.

3. Makronissos Beach, Ayia Napa

This striking beach is actually made up of two beaches - Western beach and the main Makronissos spot.

Makronissos is where the crowds tend to head during the summer months with plenty of sunbeds, cafes and restaurants on offer, not to mention it's a short (and cheap) bus ride from the centre of the Ayia Napa resort.

It's also got swim-friendly waters and family-friendly facilities.

The Western beach is a bit quieter and is less protected from the winds, so it tends to be a hit with surfers and bodyboarders, or for those looking to get away from the main crowds.

4. Golden Beach, Dipkarpaz

You'll feel like you've stepped right into a postcard thanks to this beach's long stretches of fine sands and the crystalline waters home to an abundance of colourful sea creatures.

There aren't many sun beds to rent so this tends to be a bit quieter compared to other hotspots, so it's ideal for those looking to get away from the crowds, or for those who want a scenic stroll along the shore.

5. Coral Bay, Paphos

Coral Bay has everything you need for a fun day out - a sandy beach, picturesque views, access to boat trips for an afternoon adventure, and plenty of family-friendly facilities.

However it's worth noting that there are some rockier patches along the beach and waters so be careful if you are considering a swim.

Fancy a lazy lunch? There are plenty of restaurants offering breathtaking views of the harbour.

6. Landa Beach, Ayia Napa

With plenty of sun beds lining the shores and turquoise, swim-friendly waters, it's no surprise that Landa Beach continues to be a hit with families.

There are some facilities including a beach bar, but it's predominantly popular because it's a little quieter than other beaches but still offers up a vibrant atmosphere, especially if you're on holiday and have younger kids.

7. Nissi Beach, Ayia Napa

Arguably one of Cyprus' most famous beaches, Nissi Beach can get pretty crowded during the peak holiday season.

It's right by plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and attractions so there's loads to do for those who don't want to spend the whole day soaking up the sun, while the waters are ideal for swimming and water sports.

8. Lara Beach, Paphos

The beach at Lara Bay is renowned for being home to green turtles, and between May and August it's where baby turtles hatch from their eggs and make their way into the ocean.

There are plenty of conservation efforts in the local area so it's well worth a visit if you're fascinated by all things nature.

It's worth noting that there are no sun loungers or attractions in the region, so it tends to be pretty quiet - ideal for those wanting a peaceful haven or planning to explore the rugged coast.

9. Kourion Beach, Limassol

Kourion Beach does have stretches of sand on which to relax, but what tends to be a hit with tourists are the breathtaking cliffs that form the coast and make for a picturesque backdrop when you're taking a stroll along the shores.

It's also a stone's throw from a fascinating archaeological site for the history buffs out there!

10. Pissouri Beach

Those looking to explore rather than tan won't be disappointed here. Pissouri beach is right by a charming village where you can tuck into traditional Cypriot dishes.

The beach itself tends to be pretty quiet because, while it is sandy, it's also filled with pebbles so it's not ideal for families with young kids.

Meanwhile, water sports fans will find plenty on offer in the local centres.
