Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers’ Week 16 loss to Packers

The numbers were up for the Carolina Panthers in their Week 16 matchup against the Green Bay Packers—for better and for worse.

Here are the best and worst Pro Football Focus grades from the 33-30 loss:

Best of the offense

1. WR DJ Chark: 82.9
2. QB Bryce Young: 82.0
3. WR Adam Thielen: 79.7
4. WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette: 79.4
5. TE Tommy Tremble: 76.9

One week after posting a career-high 78.0 overall grade, Young set a new best after completing 23 of his 36 throws for 312 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Chark’s 82.9 is his second-highest mark of the campaign. He reeled in six receptions for 98 yards and two scores.

Worst of the offense

14. RB Miles Sanders: 54.1
15. TE Ian Thomas: 49.6
16. C Bradley Bozeman: 48.8
17. LG Cade Mays: 43.4
18. RG Nash Jensen: 24.3

Sanders recorded three yards on three attempts.

Jensen allowed three pressures on just eight opportunities, earning a 0.0 pass-blocking grade.

Best of defense

3. LB Frankie Luvu: 83.5

5. CB Shaquill Griffin: 67.9

Brown and Luvu received the two best run defense grades (87.6 and 82.6) on the unit. They combined for seven stops.

Worst of the defense

Hill (the Grugier-less one) had a rough day in coverage. He had a reverse Chark, allowing six receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns on six targets.
