Best and worst-case picks for the No. 8 spot

The Lions have the 8th pick in the draft this year, which I’m sure you’re all aware of. If not, I hope the rock that you’re under is as comfortable as a rock can be.

While GM Bob Quinn has surprised us in the past with some of his picks, I honestly won’t be too surprised with whomever he chooses.

That said, if the words out of Roger Goodell’s mouth have anything to do with a quarterback in that 8th spot, I may just lose it and say words that my kids aren’t accustomed to me saying in their presence. While I feel that quarterback will eventually need to be addressed, it doesn’t need to with their first pick. Though I could probably see a scenario where that happens, but either way I desperately would not want it to happen. No Murray, no Haskins, no Lock, no Jackson, no one.

Now, who would I be happy with? I would love to have a good EDGE rusher. If I heard the name Montez Sweat I would have happy tears.

Ok, maybe not that happy, but I would be very happy with that.  Honestly, I would be happy with any non-quarterback taken at 8, because again, Quinn and his surprises have worked so far. I’m still Team #TrustQuinn.
