Amog is one of the most misunderstood characters in Megabonk regarding his kit, and he can be highly toxic in the right hands.
His signature weapon, Poison Flasks, has one of the shortest ranges among all weapons in the game. However, with the right build, this weapon can deal extreme amounts of poison damage, and here's the best build I've found.
Best Megabonk Amog build
Amog's Poison Flask has to be unlocked using the Moldy Cheese item. You'll have to poison 50,000 enemies with Moldy Cheese to unlock Amog's signature weapon, allowing you to unlock the character. It will take a fair amount of time for you to do so. Once done, here's what I consider to be one of the best builds for Megabonk's most 'toxic' character.
Type | Best Choices | Good Choices |
---|---|---|
Weapons | Poison Flask (signature) Aura Lightning Staff |
Revolver Bone Chunkers |
Tomes | Damage Tome Projectile Speed Tome Quantity Tome |
Luck Tome Attack Speed Tomee |
Items | Moldy Cheese (must have) Forbidden Juice Vampiric Ring Toxic Barrel |
Lightning Orb Holy Book Turbo Socks Anvil Clover |
Poison Flask is one of the most fun weapons to use in Megabonk. It has a short range, but every hit does poison damage to an enemy. Amog is healed by the same amount, which creates a unique and powerful combo.

Aura is an excellent choice as it will help you scale up better. Higher levels will increase the damage and the heals you can get. Any projectile-based weapon works well with Amog in general. My favorite is the Lightning Staff since it freezes enemies in place. Both the Revolver and Bone are good choices as well.
For Tomes, Damage and Projectile Speed are almost a must-have with Amog. Damage increases the general attack of every weapon, while Projectile Speed does the same (as long as you get the weapons I recommended). For the rest, go with Quantity, as it will make your projectiles do more damage with every hit. Luck Tome is another good choice since you'll have the chance to get better items and weapon upgrades on your run.
I have included plenty of options when it comes to items. Moldy Cheese is a must since it applies stacks of poison. Toxic Barrel might have niche use-case scenarios, but it always works well with any Amog build. Vampiric Ring applies lifesteal and raises the healing you obtain from your hits.
The strategy with Amog is pretty simple. You will never have a good range on Poison Flask, which makes adding weapons like Bone and Lightning Staff essential. Be on the move at all times to prevent getting surrounded by enemies.
Finally, scale up your damage, which will directly convert to better HP and regen. When set up, this build will make Amog nearly invincible at any tier. If you're looking for something else, check out our best builds guide.
