Best aim assist settings in Black Ops 7

If you’re a controller player looking for a sticky aim in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, having the best aim assist settings is what you need, and we’ve got you covered on that.

After getting feedback from the community, Black Ops 7 has introduced notable updates to aim assist, particularly changes to rotational aim assist. That means having precision with the controller is more than just a matter of selecting the right aim assist type. To truly maximize your accuracy, you’ll need to fine-tune several additional settings.

Below is a detailed guide to the best aim assist settings in BO7, whether you’re playing Multiplayer, Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, or even Warzone.

The recommendations I’ve listed below provide a solid starting point, but feel free to adjust them based on your personal playstyle.

Aiming

First off, head to the Controller section and navigate to the Aiming tab. Adjust the following:

  • Target Aim Assist: On
  • ADS Aim Assist: On
  • Under Advanced Aiming Settings, set:
    • ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing: Instant
    • Aim Assist Curve Type: Dynamic
  • Under Motion Sensor Function Advanced Settings, set:
    • FOV Sensitivity Scaling: Off

Make sure that both Target and ADS Aim Assist are enabled to activate the aim assist mechanic. Setting ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing to Instant ensures you can snap onto targets right away. Dynamic Aim Assist Curve offers the fastest response, but if you’re a beginner, go with Standard as it is more manageable.

If you’re experienced with controller aiming, consider customizing Custom Sensitivity Per Zoom to better fit your preferred zoom and ADS sensitivity.

Deadzone Inputs

Fine-tuning your controller deadzones is crucial to reducing stick drift and maintaining responsive controls. Bear in mind that the ideal deadzone values can vary depending on your controller, so testing is important to find what works best for you.

To adjust your deadzones, enable Test Stick Deadzone to view the values that need tweaking, and try to apply the following adjustments:

  • Right Stick (aiming): Set Right Stick Min slightly above the test value (I’ve set mine to 3) and Right Stick Max above 95 to minimize drift.
  • Left Stick (movement): Set Left Stick Min to 0 and Left Stick Max around 70 to take advantage of the updated rotational aim assist.

View

You can adjust certain graphics settings to improve your controller aiming precision. Under the View tab in the Graphics section, consider the following tweaks:

  • Field of View: 110 or lower
  • ADS Field of View: Affected
  • Weapon Field of View: Wide
  • World Motion Blur: Off
  • Weapon Motion Blur: Off

These settings should reduce visual recoil and distracting blur so you can easily focus when aiming.
