With just over 6 hours to go until Valentine's Day, a besotted Smithfield resident has pulled out all the stops to tie down the woman of his dreams.
The mystery man has proposed to his girlfriend in the most public - and original - display of romance possible; putting a massive sign in his living room window that simply says 'Maria Marry Me'.
Never mind going down on one knee - this creative Casanova has decided to go up several floors - and hope that his girlfriend sees his message before she heads up to the flat.
And if you don't think his grand romantic gesture is that impressive, bear in mind that his apartment looks out on to one of the busiest open areas in the north inner city.
The apartment faces Church St and the Luas line and has no doubt been seen by hundreds of people as they go about their business in the busy Dublin 7 village.
We haven't been able to contact mystery proposer, but we really hope that Maria says yes. Given the day that's (almost) in it, we're pretty certain she will.
