Bervely Chaleka: Edinburgh woman has been missing for days after she was seen shopping

A search has been launched to try and find a missing 25-year-old woman in Edinburgh.

Police Scotland have issued an appeal to try and trace Bervely Chaleka, who has not been seen or heard from in days.

According to officers, the young woman was last seen in the Wester Hailes area of Edinburgh on Monday (September 20).

However, after being seen on local CCTV visiting a shop in the area, Bervely has not been spotted since, with police and her family desperate to find her.

In an appeal launched on Wednesday, (September 22), officers described her behaviour as "out of character", and urged anyone with information to get in touch urgently.

She is described as a black female, 25 years old, 5’ 7” in height with short black hair. When she was last seen she was wearing a white headscarf/bandana, navy jacket and light patterned loose fitting trousers.

Inspector Keith Forrester from Wester Hailes Police Station said: “It is out of character for Bervely to go away and not keep in contact with her family.

"Her family are worried therefore if anyone has seen Bervely since Monday, or who has any information regarding her whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 491 of the 21/09/2021.”
