Berth of a new era

Spherical hotel rooms floating on the water are shown to the press at the Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, on Tuesday. The theme park hopes to launch the new hospitality service this summer after conducting trial stays. Plans are for the mobile capsule to be towed by a ship from a port near the theme park to an uninhibited island about six kilometers away that is also owned by the park. Guests can enjoy the scenery during the voyage. The charge to rent out an entire unit, which can accommodate two to three guests, is set to be in the range of 50,000 yen to 100,000 yen per night.
