Even by the standards of our debased and corrupted world, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, is notable for his unalloyed purestrain evil. Beset by long-standing allegations of massive fraud and bribery, he’s successfully avoided his trial by first leaning on the COVID pandemic and then ensuring that Israel is in constant state of emergency.
And, of course, there’s also that whole genocide thing. In Nov. 2024 the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel’s treatment of Gaza was always barbaric, but under Netanyahu a huge number innocent people have been senselessly murdered, many of them children.
Israel is now engaged in an ethnic cleansing program in Gaza, with Netanyahu’s government open and frank about their desires to rid the region of Palestinians and seize their land. All of which means it’s no surprise that the sight of Netanyahu strolling into the White House to a hero’s welcome is turning stomachs.
Sanders strikes back
Bernie Sanders is, once again, one of the few American politicians with the guts to tell it like it is. In a new video, he didn’t hold back:
Benjamin Netanyahu has been indicted as a war criminal.

His government is systematically killing and starving the people of Gaza.
He will be remembered as one of the monsters of modern history.
And Trump welcomed him to the White House. pic.twitter.com/boa92NVPvd
Sanders underlined that Netanyahu has been indicted as a war criminal and went on to list the many, many atrocities currently being committed by the IDF, including (but not limited to) creating an artificial famine, shooting hundreds of innocent people trying to get the meager aid that is allowed in, and starving babies by preventing baby formula from reaching hospitals. He concluded:
“This is the man that Donald Trump and Congress are welcoming this week: a war criminal who will be remembered as one of the monsters of modern history. Given the corrupt nature of the American political system, where billionaires are able to buy elections and heavily influence legislation, it will not be easy to stop US military aid for the Netanyahu government, but that is exactly what the American people want us to do and that’s what we’ve got to do.”
Despite the warrants out for his arrest and the domestic and international criminal charges against him it’s vanishingly unlikely that Netanyahu will ever face justice. But, perhaps one day he might understand just how thoroughly he’s poisoned and perverted the nation he claims to serve – not to mention being kept awake at night by the ghosts of the innocents buried under the rubble of Gaza.
