Sen. Bernie Sanders was hospitalized with chest pains and doctors placed stents in an artery to correct a blockage, his campaign said Wednesday.
The rumpled lefty Democratic presidential candidate was resting comfortably in a Las Vegas hospital after the overnight procedure and cancelled upcoming campaign appearances.
"Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days," said Sanders' senior adviser Jeff Weaver on Wednesday in a statement.
Sanders, 78, has been running third in recent polls behind front runner Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
