Arsenal cut the gap between themselves and the top four to seven points thanks to a 3-2 victory against Everton and Bernd Leno had a brilliant verdict on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following the clash.
Aubameyang starred at the Emirates as he bagged a brace to enable his side to move up to ninth in the Premier League table.
Arsenal are just four points back from Manchester United, who sit fifth and potentially in the final Champions League spot if Manchester City's ban is upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Leno also starred for Arsenal against Everton as he pulled off a couple of important saves in the second half to ensure the three points were secured by Mikel Arteta's men.
After the game, Leno hailed Aubameyang for inspiring the Gunners to a key victory over Carlo Ancelotti's 11th-placed side.
"We were fighting. We are happy after this game because we deserved it after the tough week," Leno told Sky Sports.
On Aubameyang's man of the match award, Leno continued: "You deserve this award, like always. He is an outstanding player. He has too many trophies. Luckily he plays for my team."
Aubameyang added: "It was a tough week and hard to find energy. Everyone is doing well and giving 100%.
"We are always happy to have him (Leno). We are proud of him and we know that we can count on him.
"I'm just happy to score goals. I have to thank my team-mates as always."
