Bernd Leno's Arsenal stance as Santi Cazorla makes Mikel Arteta statement

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Wednesday, May 5.

Leno's contract stance revealed

Bernd Leno has already admitted he would be 'open to everything' amid rumours that he could leave Arsenal in the summer.

The German goalkeeper still has two years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners, but there has been speculation over his future at the club.

Speaking last month, Leno said: "Not yet and at the moment it's not the time to speak about the future.

"I know that I still have two years left on my contract and I'm also 29.

"For a goalkeeper, that's not too old. I've still got some years to go. I'm very happy at the club. I don't know what will come in the future, but I'm open to everything.

Arsenal's Summer Transfer Approach

"Maybe for a new adventure or to stay at Arsenal.

"Like I said, I don't think about my future because two years is a long time.

"At the moment there are no conversations with the club or anything else."

Cazorla opens up on Arteta

Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla thinks Mikel Arteta is the "right man" to take the club forward.

Despite the Gunners being in the semi-final of the Europa League, the side have struggled domestically, with Arteta receiving some criticism throughout the season.

Cazorla, who used to play with his Spanish countryman at the Emirates Stadium, has heaped praise on his "great friend".

"I think he's the right man to take the club forward. It's difficult to follow a period like Wenger's – the club has to adapt to another kind of football, another philosophy, another vision of football," Cazorla told UEFA.

"He's got a clear idea of how he wants his team to play, they're in the semi-finals and they did well in the FA Cup [last season].

"They have been pretty inconsistent but you've got to give him time and I think they're convinced that Mikel can get a lot out of the squad and achieve big things.

"I'm great friends with him and whatever good happens to him and the club I'd be happy for them because I'm a 'Gunner'."

What Bissouma did amid Arsenal speculation

Over the weekend, Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma viewed an Instagram story that included rumours that he could be moving to Arsenal in the summer.

Bissouma has been linked with a move to the Emirates and football.london were told in January that 'he loves the Premier League and would play for the Gunners over any other club'.

Now, a few months later, there has been speculation stating that Arsenal are 'confident' in signing the Mali international from the Seagulls in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This rumour is something that @afc_stuff pointed out on their Instagram story and it has now been revealed that Bissouma clicked on it and viewed it.
