Tomiyasu, Sambi Lokonga, Pablo Mari: Arsenal injury news and Covid updates after Leeds win

Arsenal recorded their third consecutive victory on Saturday evening as they beat Leeds United 4-1 at Elland Road.

Goals from Gabriel Martinelli (x2), Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe were enough for the dominant Gunners, who have now extended their advantage in the Premier League table over West Ham United to four points with the victory.

However, it is not all good news for Mikel Arteta, who is now set to be without a few players for their upcoming matches.

So, with all of that being said, football.london rounds up the very latest injury-related and Covid-related updates coming out of Arsenal on Sunday morning.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

The Japan international was forced off the pitch on 64 minutes after struggling with an injury problem.

After the game, Arteta confirmed it was a muscular issue for Tomiyasu and Arsenal will wait to find out the severity of the problem.

What Arteta's said: "It was more of a muscular injury. He has got a big load on him because he has played every single minute since he's joined us and even this week, he has been struggling a little bit.

"We decided to take him off, he was not 100 per cent confident to continue in the game, and hopefully he is not injured."

Expected return date: N/A

Pablo Mari and Sambi Lokonga

Mari and Sambi Lokonga have both tested positive for Covid-19 and will now isolate until they are able to return a negative result.

Expected return date: Unknown

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang has missed the last few matches because of a disciplinary breach, with his future at Arsenal uncertain.

What Arteta's said : “No, he’s not available for selection."

Expected return date : N/A

Bernd Leno

Leno has missed the last four games with a groin issue that he picked up in training.

However, he returned to London Colney this week and was pictured training alongside Aaron Ramsdale and Arthur Okonkwo. Leno returned to the bench for Saturday's win at Elland Road.

What's been said : “Right groin. Bernd sustained a groin issue in training and is being assessed.”

Expected return date: N/A

Sead Kolasinac

Left-back Kolasinac is unlikely to play anytime soon, with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international sidelined with a ‘significant’ ankle injury that he suffered during last month's international break.

The former Schalke defender had to be carried off the field after a heavy challenge in a World Cup qualifier against Finland.

What's been said : "Left ankle. Sead sustained a significant injury to his left ankle playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina during the November international period. Sead is now running outside and is aiming to be back in full training in January."

Expected return date: New Year
