Arsenal fans have been quick to heap praise on Bernd Leno after David de Gea embarrassing error against Everton.
The Manchester United goalkeeper received the ball inside his own box without pressure. Believing he had more time than he did, the Spaniard was quickly pressed by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
He then flung himself in front of de Gea's clearance which in turn, bounced into the goal to give Everton the lead.
The goal was Calvert-Lewin's 13th in the Premier League this season and was his third in as many games. Alongside this, it was his seventh goal in 12 games at Goodison Park this season - he had seven in 40 home Premier League appearances beforehand.
Arsenal fans were delighted upon seeing the goalkeeper's mishap as it gave them the chance to shine more light on how well Leno has done since arriving in north London.
The German joined as backup to Petr Cech but quickly rose in the pecking order and ended his debut season as Arsenal's firm No.1. The impressive start he made at Arsenal has continued this season as he has been one of the club's standout players in the 2019/20 campaign.
So far in the Premier League, he has made the second-most saves (98) which - alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 17 goals - are a key reason why the Gunners still have a chance to finish in the top five.
Here's what the Arsenal fans had to say once they'd seen de Gea's most recent blunder.
Despite the calls that Leno has surpassed de Gea, that mistake brought the Spaniard level with him on errors leading to goals since the start of last season (seven).
The German was also at fault against Olympiacos when he similarly held onto the ball for too long and conceded the corner which resulted in the Greek side's winner.
"Yeah obviously he could have kicked it out but there is another situation to defend," Mikel Arteta said after the game .
"It's not only the first phase, it's the second phase of that corner that we concede and the player just taps in the ball in the six-yard box which is unacceptable and is something we have to improve on."
