Bernd Leno hints at next move after leaving Arsenal as Mikel Arteta and Edu's stance is revealed

Bernd Leno says he will leave Arsenal.

Although, not this summer as he intends to not only see out the remainder of his two-year contract at the Emirates Stadium but also lead the club back into the Champions League.

Recently, there has speculation regarding the Germany international who took back his status as Arsenal's undisputed no.1 after Emiliano Martinez was sold to Aston Villa last summer.

According to The Athletic, Leno is among at least five senior Arsenal players - along with Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka - whom staff are under the impression want to leave the club this summer.

However, Leno insists that is not the case.

"I don't want to flee here, I feel good and want to be successful again with Arsenal! Arsenal are a big club, which is extremely underestimated in Germany, there are many Arsenal fans all over the world," he said in an interview with German publication Sport 1.

"I still have a two-year contract and hope to play in the Champions League again with Arsenal."

But the goalkeeper has hinted that he would like to experience playing in another league before hanging up his boots.

"It is also clear that at some point in my career I want to do something different," Leno added. "So far I've played for two clubs. Maybe I'll get the urge to play in another league again. Maybe in the south. But there is time, I'm still getting to the top goalkeeping age.

"But my focus is on Arsenal FC. "

With that said, any decision regarding Leno's short-term future may be taken out of his hands by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu.

As reported by football.london last week, the club are willing to sell him for the right price in the summer transfer window.

And with 25 months remaining on Leno's contract, this summer is the last realistic chance to command a decent fee to raise funds for Arteta to bolster his first-team squad.
