Bernd Leno has angry words with Neal Maupay as Arsenal keeper is stretchered off vs Brighton

After picking up two injuries during their first game back in Premier League action on Wednesday night, Arsenal have another massive injury concern.

The Gunners are in action on the south coast taking on Brighton at the Amex Stadium and they have a further injury crisis to worry about.

The first half was an even affair, although Arsenal had the better chances, with Bulayo Saka hitting the crossbar and Alexandre Lacazette having a head well saved by Maty Ryan.

But it was what happened towards the end of the half that will worry the Gunners fans.

A hopeful ball forward by Brighton was chased down by Neal Maupay who went up and pushed Bernd Leno to the floor on the left-hand edge of his own box.

The German goalkeeper carried the ball outside of the area, but it was clearly a foul and Martin Atkinson blew for a free-kick.

But Leno was in real discomfort and his screams in agony were audible in an empty stadium.

The stretcher came on and the keeper was taken off on it, although he was not in too much pain that he could not make his feelings towards the culprit Maupay known before he went off.

Leno sat up on the stretcher and pointed an accusing finger at the Brighton striker, having a few words with the Frenchman before he left the match.
