Bernardo Silva offered to Spurs for Harry Kane amid Arsenal interest: Man City transfer rumours

Bernardo Silva has reportedly been linked with a move to Arsenal amid rumours he is considering a move away from Pep Guardiola's side this summer.

With Jack Grealish' s arrival at the Etihad, Silva has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

The 26 year old endured a difficult season in blue colours and despite a Premier League title victory, he is reportedly searching for a fresh start away from Manchester.

Silva may be granted the opportunity to do so with City open to allowing the Portuguese international to depart this summer.

That has reportedly attracted the attention of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but the Daily Mail claim that City are prepared to offer him to Tottenham Hotspur in order to seal a deal for England captain Harry Kane.

City are long-time admirers of Kane's and their pursuit of the star striker is well-documented, and while they are keen to make a move happen, no agreement has been met over a fee.

The Manchester Evening News understands that City are not willing to get anywhere near the £160m figure that was dubiously bandied about last week - and the Mail's report claims that Bernardo Silva could help bridge the gap from the £100m City are believed to have previously offered.

If Spurs are even interested in such a cash-plus-swap deal, they could face competition from their biggest rivals.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal could also turn their attention towards Silva as they look for a creative midfielder in the transfer market.

Arsenal's primary target has been Leicester City's James Maddison, but the report claims, the Gunners and Mikel Arteta might turn their attention elsewhere with one such possibility Bernardo Silva.

Arteta harbours a close relationship with City considering the current Arsenal boss was Pep Guardiola's assistant for three years before taking over at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners boss will be familiar with Bernardo Silva and with City reportedly open to allowing Silva to depart, the Arsenal boss may fancy his chances of wrapping up a deal over haggling with Leicester City for Maddison.

Despite a rocky season, Bernardo Silva has been a valuable addition to Pep Guardiola's side playing over 200 games since 2017 scoring 35 goals and registering 44 assists in the process.

Silva was given just 17 minutes in City's opening fixture in the Community Shield against Leicester City and he is expected to be on the periphery of the squad having fallen down the pecking order.

Doing business with Arsenal, may also help City recoup a portion of the money they paid for Jack Grealish.
