Bernardo Silva names two places he wants to play after leaving Man City

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva says he wouldn't turn down the chance to play in Spain in the future.

The City star began his career at Benfica, before a successful spell at Monaco that prompted his big-money move to the Etihad in 2017. Since joining City, Bernardo has won two Premier League titles, three League Cups, the FA Cup and two Community Shields.

However, the popular playmaker clearly has ambitions away from the Etihad, as he told TVI 24 in his native Portugal about his desire to play in La Liga later in his career.

“I would like to play in Spain one day," he said.

"It’s a league that fascinates me. When I was a kid, I looked at the Premier League and La Liga as the two best in the world. I wouldn’t say no if the opportunity comes up."

Bernardo, 25, is under contract at City until 2025, and has previously spoken about his hopes of returning to Benfica later in his career - the only Portuguese club he says he would consider playing for.

“[In Portugal] only for Benfica, the rest doesn’t interest me. If they want me there, I’ll be back," he added.

“I’ve said it several times. I don’t know exactly when. Not now, but I also wouldn’t like to go back late.”
