Bernardo Silva says he intends to learn as much as he can from David Silva before the Manchester City legend leaves the Etihad next year.
David Silva will depart City after ten years next summer, bringing an end to a highly successful period at the club.
But before that, the Spaniard will aim to win his fifth Premier League title with City, and Bernardo is planning to learn as much from the 33-year-old as possible over the next ten months.
"I have learnt a lot from playing alongside him," Bernardo told City's website.
"He’s probably one of the best midfielders ever and every year he shows you how good he is.
"For me to be with him it’s a pleasure. I learn from him in every training session and it’s great to have him in our team.
"The work he did for the club (playing for) 10 years, it’s great - fantastic the work he did for the club."
Bernardo also insisted that City will cope without Silva's creativity when the 'Magician' leaves.
"Over the last few years we lost Yaya (Toure) and now Vinny (Kompany) and we will lose David next season, but the team continues, and we try to do our best," he insisted.
"Then we will have plenty of players to try and do a good job without him."
Looking ahead to this coming campaign, Bernardo set himself a goal to improve on an impressive season in 2018/19.
He explained: "I try to train hard every day and to do my best and work a lot and, hopefully, this season I can do even better.
"We will see. I will try to do it knowing that the standards are high right now.
"I’m always 100 per cent focused to do better and better."
