Bernardo Silva makes admission about poor Man City form

Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva has been critical of his individual form as well as the club's disappointing start to the new season.

City have struggled for consistency so far this season, having taken eight points from a possible 15 in the opening five rounds of the Premier League season.

While Pep Guardiola's side hold a game in hand on some of the sides ahead of them, the displays have been far from convincing at the 1-1 draw with West Ham at the weekend is further evidence of that.

City now turn their attention towards the Champions League, as they look to follow up last weekend's victory over Porto when they travel to face Marseille.

The French side are an outfit that Silva knows well from his time plying his trade in Ligue 1 and, ahead of the game, he pulled no punches with his assessment of the season so far.

“I don’t really have a good explanation. We have to speak between us, with the manager, because if we want to win a title this season, we need to change something," he told L'Equipe.

“All the teams know how we play, and we find ourselves against teams that don’t want the ball. They’re just waiting for the counter-attack. In this early season, we haven’t managed to be dangerous, to create a lot of chances, nor to be efficient.

“It’s not been a good season for us, and for me personally either. We’ve got a very complete squad, with a lot of world-class player and competition.

“On the right, I have  [Riyad] Mahrez and Ferran Torres, or even Raheem Sterling. In the middle, I had David Silva, [Ilkay] Gündogan and Kevin De Bruyne, but of course I needed to do better this season."
