Bernard Brogan reportedly set to be recalled to Dublin panel for All-Ireland final replay

Bernard Brogan is set for a surprise recall to the Dublin squad for this weekend's All-Ireland Football Final replay against Kerry.

The 2010 Footballer of the Year missed out on the matchday 26 for the drawn clash on September 1, and has been called upon sparingly by Jim Gavin this season so far.

Veteran has only featured in one Championship game in 2019 - the dead rubber Super 8s clash with Tyrone in Omagh.

Brogan tore his cruciate ligament at the beginning of 2018 and made only one appearance that season in another dead rubber against Roscommon, despite coming back from injury months earlier than expected.

He did infamously warm up with number 27 on his back during last year's All-Ireland Final win over Tyrone before Dublin management eventually put the kibosh on him coming on.

But  the Irish Examiner have reported this morning  that Brogan will be back in the panel for Saturday evening.

The 35-year-old, who looked sharp in kicking a sole point against the Red Hands this year, may provide an additional attacking x-factor off the bench should Jim Gavin need to call upon him in what's expected to be another tight affair between the two great rivals.

Fourteen-man Dublin drew 1-16 1-16 with the Kingdom in the first game on September 1.
