SET-listed Berli Jucker views Vietnam as a new platform for growth and plans to open 24 additional stores in the country by 2030.
The company currently operates 30 MM Mega Market Vietnam stores, comprising both small and large retail and wholesale outlets, including 19 Cash & Carry stores, one supermarket and one hypermarket.
Thapanee Techajareonvikul, senior executive vice-president of BJC Big C Group, said the company plans to increase its sales contribution from overseas markets.
Under its "Vision 2030" strategy, the company wants international sales to account for 30% of total revenue, rising from 10%.
Berli Jucker is in a growth phase, with expansion focused on Vietnam across its manufacturing, trading and retail businesses, she said.
Vietnam is considered a high-potential market, with a population exceeding 100 million and a rapidly expanding middle class, said Ms Thapanee.
The World Bank forecasts Vietnam's economic growth at 6.8% in 2026.
Furthermore, the recent imple- mentation of administrative reforms has helped to streamline business processes in Vietnam, enabling companies to obtain permits and legal documents more easily through a one-stop service, she noted.
Given the country's high growth potential, many competitors are entering the market, prompting Berli Jucker to move quickly, said Ms Thapanee.
At the end of 2025 the company operated stores in Laos, Cambodia and Hong Kong, in addition to its presence in Vietnam.
