Bereaved Dundee parents have been invited to join a baby memorial service next week.
The online gathering - run by NHS Tayside - is open to families who have lost a baby during pregnancy, labour or shortly after birth.
Due to COVID-19, the Children’s Memorial Service, which would normally be held in the University of Dundee Chaplaincy, will be held virtually again this year.
It will be shown on NHS Tayside’s Facebook page, as well as NHS Tayside Spiritual Care department twitter page and the Dundee University Chaplaincy Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The event is open to everyone regardless of faith and belief.
Healthcare Chaplain Christiana Ekpete said: “The hope is that the Children’s Memorial Service brings some comfort for parents and families who have lost a baby or child during pregnancy, labour or shortly after birth.
“It provides an opportunity to pause in the run up to Christmas and to have a dedicated space to reflect and remember those we have lost.
“The order of service will include poetry readings, music and a dedicated time for reflection.”
And she added: “Parents and families will also be invited to light a candle in memory of their pregnancy loss, or loss of babies and children in the privacy of their own homes.
“We hope you can join us as we take time to remember your lost but not forgotten precious little ones.”
- The service begins at 7pm on Friday 10th December.
