Berberian Sound Studio: First look at pictures of new Donmar Warehouse production

The first pictures have been released for Berberian Sound Studio, which opens today at the Donmar Warehouse.

Peter Strickland’s horror film of the same name has been adapted for the stage by Joel Horwood. Tom Scutt, set designer responsible for the recent Almeida production of Summer and Smoke, makes his directorial debut.

The story follows a sound designer tasked with creating the sound effects for a horror film studio. But it’s a far-cry from his work on nature documentaries and starts to take a toll on his mind.

Tom Brooke is in the lead role, starring alongside Eugenia Carusio, Enzo Cilenti, Tom Espiner, Sidney Kean, Lore Lixenberg, Luke Pasqualino, Lara Rossi, Beatrice Scirocchi and Hemi Yeroham.

Set design is provided by Scutt and Anna Yates, with lighting by Lee Curran and sound and composition by Ben and Max Ringham.

Berberian Sound Studio runs until March 30 at the Donmar Warehouse, donmarwarehouse.com
