Vijayawada: Benz Circle flyover-II inauguration on February 17

VIJAYAWADA: The long-awaited Benz Circle flyover-II is set for inauguration on February 17. Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari will open the flyover and lay the foundation stone for other road and infrastructure projects.

The flyover was scheduled for inauguration on December 10 last but the programme was postponed due to the death of former chief of defence staff General Bipin Rawat.

The state government is making all arrangements for the inauguration and a public meeting at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium where around 2,000 people are expected to take part.

Gadkari will inaugurate the newly-developed four-lane road from Gundugolanu to Kovvuru, and Gutti highway at Anantapur district. He will also lay the foundation stones for projects worth 21,000 crore.

Krishna district collector J Nivas, R&B principal secretary MT Krishna Babu and other officials monitored the arrangements for the event. Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to at the programme.
