Bridgerton is planning the event of the season as Bridgerton Season 4 finally got a release date on Netflix. Today, the streamer decided to begin the masquerade ball festivities with Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Yes, Bridgerton fans, it’s finally, at long last, Benedict’s turn in the spotlight. January 29, 2026 brings Part 1 of the beloved Netflix show and Part 2 is ready for scandal on February 26, 2026. That might seem like a bit of a wait, but once the holidays begin, it will be here before we know it.
Last season, Bridgerton delighted fans of Penelope Featherington (literal queen Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (a newly rugged Luke Newton) as their romance finally hit the screen. All of this was a massive point of discussion for the larger Bridgerton fandom as the sacred order of the books got a slight remix for the Netflix show. If you thought that was wild, wait until showrunner Jess Brownell shows us what she’s been working on for Bridgerton Season 4. There’s a brand-new clip to tide us over down below too!
While there’s not a ton in that short teaser (snort), there are some fun dynamics teasing the larger story at play this season. Bridgerton Season 4 is adapting Julia Quinn’s third novel in the series, An Offer from a Gentleman. This entry is famous for playing with tropes from Cinderella, and that’s on full-display here. A lower class girl falling for a dashing member of the ‘Ton? Check. Masquerade ball framing to help heighten Benedict’s search for a “ Lady in Silver?” You bet. We’ve even got them grazing each other’s hands going opposite ways on a staircase. The tagline for this season is “unmask true love,” and reader, don’t threaten me with a good time.
Bridgerton Season 4 teases Benophie’s love story
If you’ve spent any time online as a part of the Bridgerton fandom, you’re familiar with the shipping names each couple’s romance carries with them. As we’ve established, it’s Benophie’s debut. Last season, Thompson’s fan-favorite was trying to find himself and learn a little bit about open relationships in the process. Now, it seems that Ha’s irresistible maid is ready to steal his eye for good? It’s the kind of drama that’s made this series an absolutely gargantuan hit. TUDUM asked the Benedict actor to tease the season and he pulled out a storybook.
“The storyline is a bit of a twist on Cinderella. You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them,” Thompson told th outlet. “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”
Yerin Ha is ready for folks to meet Sophie
As has become custom at this point, Bridgerton on Netflix has a habit of remixing the source material. Sophie Beckett in the books shares some common traits with Sophie Baek. But, look for the show to lead us down a magical path that might divert from the events as written on the page directly… An Offer from a Gentlemen has a lot of fans, but there’s no massive reason for concern just yet! Ha wants people to know that this Sophie has depth too, just like the woman who inspired her.
She told TUDUM, “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”
