Ipswich Town are considering a £350,000 move for Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.
United’s player of the year is high on the radar of the English League One outfit.
The Swiss keeper is in the final year of his contract and unlikely to sign an extension.
New United head coach Tam Courts had said he would like to get Siegrist and Scotland international Lawrence Shankland on deals beyond the end of the new season - but both scenarios look increasingly unlikely.
Courts said: “We are trying to acquire assets which we can sell in the future or develop assets we can sell.
“So we understand these players won’t be here for eight, nine, ten seasons.
“Both of those players are extremely valuable to the club.
“Benji had had a phenomenal season and I would imagine there will be a lot of interest in him because of that.
“I would be surprised if there wasn’t interest after the season he had.

“Lawrence Shankland is a firm fans’ favourite here, they idolise him and as a consequence of that we have to try to do everything we can to prolong their careers here.”
United are bracing themselves for bids this summer, with European interest there as well.
If a deal does come into the offing then they will ramp up their interest in Queen’s Park Rangers keeper Liam Kelly.
The Scotland squad keeper was on loan at Motherwell last season and the Steelmen are also keen to re-sign him again for the new campaign.
Courts is already looking to strengthen his squad.
He has a deal lined up to sign Charlie Mulgrew after his release from Blackburn Rovers.
The experienced defender is expected to sign a two year deal at Tannadice, with an element of coaching likely to come into the second year.
Courts is also looking to add wide and striking options.
Courts added: “As part of my job doing the opposition analysis previously, it was natural that I would be involved in recruitment meetings.
“So I would be making recommendations about players I’ve seen and who would be of interest.
“We are a very fluid club in terms of how communication flows, so I have a very good understanding of the signing targets and their profiles.
“I was heavily involved in that with my previous job as well.”
Meanwhile, United’s young defender Layton Bisland has signed a new two year contract.
